The Sequence – Arne Quinze

Here are some interesting images of a 5 year installation at the Flemish Parliament by Arne Quinze entitled THE SEQUENCE.

Quinze: “THE SEQUENCE bridges the communication gap between people and generates movement in the city. I want to reconnect people and let them interact with each other like they did in the past on squares. At least people talked to each other then.”

My personal fascination with this project begins with its scale – it’s massive! There are quite a food precedents for wood installations similar to this, but the experiential nature of Arne Quinze’s project, due largely to the scale at which it is operating, renders it unique.
